In line with the commencement of the Holy Ramadan fast by both religions,the Kebbi State Government has approved a reduction in official working hours for civil servants across the state.
The approval was granted by Governor Nasir Idris, according to a statement issued by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry for Establishment, Pension and Training, Hafsat Ibrahim Tune, and made available to journalists in Birnin Kebbi on Wednesday.
Ibrahim Tune disclosed that the governor approved a two-hour reduction in the daily working schedule throughout the Ramadan period to enable workers observe the fasting exercise with ease.
Under the new arrangement, civil servants will now work from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, while Friday’s schedule will run from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
She explained that the directive takes immediate effect and applies to all public servants in the state, urging workers to adhere strictly to the adjusted hours.
The permanent secretary added that normal official working hours would resume at the end of the Ramadan fasting period.
