The Kaduna State Government has issued a stern warning to former Governor Nasir El-Rufai, accusing him of plotting to destabilize the state and plunge it back into its dark past of violence and division.
In a statement signed by the commissioner Internal Security and Home Affairs Suleiman Shu’aibu, he said El-Rufai is exploiting old wounds and peddling lies to incite violence and discord, following his candidates’ massive electoral losses in the August 16 by-elections. The government claims that El-Rufai has been recruiting thugs and compromising security agents to disrupt the peace.
The Kaduna State Government has vowed to take decisive action against anyone who threatens the state’s peace and stability.
The government has also called on the people of Kaduna to reject El-Rufai’s message of hate and embrace the peace and unity being built.
The government highlighted the progress made under Governor Uba Sani’s administration, including restored peace, improved security, and development initiatives. The government emphasized its commitment to defending the peace and stability of the state.
The Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) has also debunked El-Rufai’s claims of bribing bandits, stating that neither the federal nor state governments have ever paid or induced bandits.
The government has urged El-Rufai to stop dragging security agencies into petty political conflicts.
