Senate President , Godswill Akpabio, has lauded the brilliance of Nigerian youths, declaring that they possess the capacity to compete and excel on the global stage if given the right support from government agencies.

Akpabio made the remarks while hosting 11-year-old Miss Cara Victor Antai, who clinched a Bronze Medal at the 2025 TeenEagle Global Final 2, held at the University of Surrey, United Kingdom.
The reception took place at his country home in Ukana, Essien Udim Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.

Congratulating the young champion, Akpabio said, I congratulate you, my daughter, on this great feat.
It shows that Nigerians, when given opportunities and encouragement, can achieve whatever they set their minds to.
This award is a call for more hard work, and I also commend your parents, Dr. and Mrs. Antai, for nurturing this achievement.”

The TeenEagle competition attracted over 20,000 participants from 69 countries, beginning with online qualifiers and culminating in the grand finale from July 27 to August 3 at Surrey. Nigeria was proudly represented by eight students—five from NTIC Abuja and three from NTIC Yobe.
Cara, competing in the TeenEagle 1 category, excelled in both receptive skills (reading and listening) and productive skills (writing and speaking). Her performance earned her two global recognitions: 3rd Place Bronze Medal in TeenEagle 1and a Special Award for Best in Charisma.
Akpabio emphasized that such feats are proof that Nigerian youths are achievers destined for greatness, urging institutions and government bodies to create platforms that will further showcase and develop their talents.
