The Kebbi State Police Command has celebrated the retirement of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Ladi Haruna Maidawa, applauding her decades of service to humanity and her pioneering role in combating Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in the state.

At a colorful sendforth ceremony in Birnin Kebbi, the Commissioner of Police, CP Bello M. Sani represented by the Deputy Commissioner in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), DCP Ishaq Isma’il Salihu described CSP Ladi as a dedicated, disciplined, and firm officer whose contributions left a lasting mark on the command. He prayed for God’s blessings in her post-service life and urged younger officers to emulate her commitment to integrity and service.


CSP Ladi retired after 35 years of meritorious service in the Nigeria Police Force, in line with public service regulations.
The Technical Working Committee on Gender Based Violence, operating under the office of the wife of the Kebbi State Governor, Hajia Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris also paid glowing tributes to the retiring officer, acknowledging her pivotal role in advancing the fight against GBV across the state.

Speakers at the event lauded her leadership of the Gender Unit of the SCID, noting that her intervention brought relief to many survivors of violence and strengthened institutional response to GBV in Kebbi.
The ceremony featured goodwill messages, gift presentations, and tributes from colleagues, friends, and invited guests, all highlighting CSP Ladi’s legacy of service to humanity.
In her remarks, the celebrant expressed deep gratitude to the Kebbi State Police Command, her colleagues, and her family for their support throughout her career. She asked for forgiveness from anyone she might have wronged and assured that she had equally forgiven all.
