Kebbi State Police Command In a poignant ceremony held on Thursday, October 23, 2025, the State Police Command, led by Commissioner of Police Bello M. Sani, distributed cheques amounting to ₦33,816,610.97 to the families of 50 police officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.


This financial assistance is part of the Group Life Assurance and Inspector General of Police (IGP) Family Welfare Schemes, designed to provide crucial support to the bereaved families of officers who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving the nation.

During the cheque presentation, CP Bello Sani praised Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, for his unwavering commitment to the welfare of police personnel and their families.

He described IGP Egbetokun as a benevolent leader whose efforts have significantly boosted the morale and effectiveness of police officers nationwide.

“The IGP’s generosity has brought immense relief and joy to many families,” CP Sani stated.
“We pray that Almighty Allah continues to bless him as he works to enhance the lives of our officers and their loved ones.”
In his remarks, Sani urged the beneficiaries to utilize the funds wisely, emphasizing the importance of investing in ventures that will secure their families’ futures.

Sonnen Simeon Mome, speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the timely and impactful support from the IGP.
He assured that the funds would be used judiciously to enhance the welfare of their families.
This initiative highlights the police leadership’s ongoing commitment to the welfare of both serving and retired officers, as well as the families of those who have paid the ultimate price in service to the nation.
