The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to transforming Nigeria’s research and development (R&D) outcomes into viable commercial ventures with the launch of the second phase of the DELTA-2 Programme.

The initiative, flagged off by the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) in partnership with the Presidential Implementation Committee on Technology Transfer (PICTT), marks the 2nd Call for Proposals under the bilateral Nigeria–Czech Republic collaboration.
Backed by the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic (TA CR), the programme invites submissions from Nigerian innovators, researchers, and technology entrepreneurs in critical sectors such as mining, agriculture, advanced manufacturing, science, and engineering.
Officials said the new phase would prioritize commercialization, ensuring that research findings and technological innovations are translated into products and services that contribute directly to economic growth.
The DELTA-2 project was first launched in 2022, with successful proposals receiving grants to scale up enterprises across various fields. With the second call, the Federal Government stressed that harnessing innovation for industrial and commercial application remains central to its drive for sustainable development.
