The Kebbi Governor wife Dr. Nafisa Nasir Idris, has reaffirmed her commitment to women’s empowerment as she attended the distribution of financial support to 500 women and inaugurated a cooperative association in Kamba, Dandi Local Government Area.

The program, organized by the Commissioner of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Halima Hassan Kamba, was aimed at boosting self-reliance among rural women and strengthening their role in family and community development.
In her remarks, Dr. Nafisa congratulated the commissioner for her initiative, describing it as a reflection of the present administration’s vision of touching lives positively.

She urged beneficiaries to put the financial support to productive use, engage in small-scale businesses, and register for voter cards ahead of the elections.
The governor’s wife also commended her husband, Dr. Nasir Idris, for what she described as his tireless efforts in uplifting the standard of living of people across the state.
Commissioner Halima Kamba, while unveiling the Dandi Women Cooperative Association said the empowerment scheme was designed to make women feel the direct impact of the Kauran Gwandu-led government. She urged the beneficiaries to use the ₦20,000 cash support responsibly.
Political leaders and stakeholders, including the APC Chairman of Dandi, Alhaji Lawali Kyangakwai, the Local Government Chairman, Dr. Mansur Isa, former House of Representatives member, Alhaji Ibrahim Bawa Kamba, and State Assembly member, Dr. Sulaiman Abubakar Fana, praised the commissioner for championing women’s welfare. They stressed that the initiative would reduce idleness and create opportunities for grassroots women.

The District Head of Kamba, Alhaji Mamuda Zarumai, offered prayers for the success of the initiative, while other dignitaries, including wives of top government officials, elders, and women groups, graced the event.
Highlights included the inauguration of the Dandi Women Support Association for Tinubu/Kaura Continuity 2027 cash support of ₦20,000 to 500 women, ₦1 million donations each from Dr. Sulaiman Fana and the Dandi Chairman, as well as music entertainment.
