Kebbi state command In a decisive move against child abuse and gender-based violence, the Kebbi State Police Command has arrested two men in connection with the disturbing defilement of minors.
This initiative underscores the command’s commitment to a zero-tolerance policy towards such heinous crimes.
On August 27, 2025, a 10-year-old girl, Vina Shehu, was sent on an errand by her mother in Bedi, Zuru Local Government Area. Tragically, while en route, she was lured into the home of 30-year-old Amos Jondo Maliki, where he assaulted her.
In another alarming incident on September 6, 2025, 5-year-old Nana A’isha Aminu Wala was victimized by 48-year-old Mansuru Sani. The young girl had gone to Sani’s shop in the Goribbu area of Birnin Kebbi to buy sweets when he allegedly waylaid her and committed an indecent act.
The swift actions of a dedicated team of detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) led to the prompt arrests of both suspects, who have since been arraigned in court following thorough investigations.
Kebbi State Commissioner of Police, CP Bello M. Sani, commended the efforts of the Honorable Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Dr. Barr. Junaidu Bello Marshall, for his rapid response in ensuring the diligent prosecution of these cases.
He condemned the incidents in the strongest terms and reassured the public of the command’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding the most vulnerable members of society.
CP Sani emphasized the importance of community vigilance, urging parents to closely monitor their children’s movements and report any instances of gender-based violence to the nearest police station for immediate action.
The Kebbi State Police Command remains resolute in its mission to eradicate child exploitation and abuse, ensuring that justice prevails for the victims.
