Gombe State Governor, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has arrived in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital, ahead of the 12th meeting of the North East Governors’ Forum scheduled for tomorrow.
Governor Yahaya was received at the Government House by his host, Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State, and later inspected a guard of honour mounted by the Taraba State Police Command in a brief but colourful ceremony.
The North East Governors’ Forum, chaired by Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, serves as a regional platform for collaboration among the six states of the geopolitical zone.
Its agenda focuses on strengthening security, enhancing infrastructure, boosting economic development, and addressing humanitarian challenges bedeviling the region.
The 12th edition of the forum is expected to draw all member governors to deliberate on pressing regional issues and design collective solutions.
A communiqué outlining resolutions is expected at the end of the meeting.
