The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kebbi State Command, on Tuesday held its 2026 Decoration Ceremony for newly promoted senior officers and rank-and-file personnel, underscoring the Corps’ commitment to merit, professionalism and disciplined service delivery.
The ceremony, which took place at the State Headquarters Hall, Aliero Quarters, Gwadangaji, drew the representative of the Commandant-General of the NSCDC, members of the Kebbi State Executive Council, heads of sister security agencies, traditional and religious leaders, senior officers of the Corps, and other stakeholders.

Speaking at the event, the State Commandant, Commandant K. A. Alkamawa, described the decoration as a defining moment in the career progression of the officers, noting that promotions within the Corps are earned through diligence, discipline, professionalism and unwavering commitment to duty.

Alkamawa commended the Commandant-General and the management of the NSCDC for their consistent support, visionary leadership and prioritisation of personnel welfare and capacity development. He congratulated the newly promoted officers and charged them to view their new ranks as a call to higher responsibility, stronger leadership and greater discipline.

He urged officers to remain courageous, fair and professional in the discharge of their duties, while upholding the Corps’ core values and respect for the rule of law. Officers yet to be promoted, he added, should remain focused and dedicated, with the assurance that their efforts would be recognised in due course.

During the ceremony, officers were decorated across various ranks, including five Assistant Commandants promoted to Deputy Commandant of Corps; one Chief Superintendent elevated to Assistant Commandant; two Superintendents to Chief Superintendent; 15 Deputy Superintendents to Superintendent; 43 Assistant Superintendents to Deputy Superintendent; and 45 Assistant Superintendent of Corps II to ASC I.
Others were nine Assistant Inspectors of Corps promoted to Inspector of Corps; 26 Corps Assistant II to Corps Assistant I; and 28 Corps Assistant III to Corps Assistant II, with a total of 63 junior personnel benefiting from the promotion exercise.
The event concluded with prayers for divine guidance and protection for the Corps, Kebbi State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Participants described the ceremony as a morale booster, reaffirming the NSCDC’s resolve to strengthen professionalism and enhance effective protection of lives, property and critical national assets.
