The Women Rights Initiative (WORI) has thrown its weight behind the Minister of Women Affairs, urging staff of the Ministry to close ranks and work in unity for the growth and progress of Nigerian women.
Speaking, the Executive Director of WORI, Dr, Laiatu Augustine Bamaiyi expressed concern over the removal of two women ministers under the current administration, describing it as a setback for women’s representation in governance.
She said the development underscores the need to safeguard the stability of the Ministry of Women Affairs.
“This is not the time for distractions or internal wrangling.
Nigerian women need results, not division. We call on all staff and stakeholders to rally behind the Minister, give her maximum cooperation, and focus on policies that will uplift women across the country,” Dr Bamaiyi stated.
WORI maintained that supporting the Minister’s leadership would not only sustain ongoing empowerment programs but also ensure that the voice of Nigerian women remains strong within the government.
“The Ministry of Women Affairs must be a beacon of hope, not controversy.
We stand firmly with the Minister and believe that collective efforts will deliver meaningful change for women in this administration,” she added.
