The Governor of Zamfara State, Dr. Dauda Lawal Dare, on Thursday paid a courtesy visit to the headquarters of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in Abuja.
He was received by the Director General of the Agency, Mrs. Zubaida Umar.
Governor Lawal, while addressing the NEMA leadership, expressed appreciation on behalf of the government and people of Zamfara State for the Federal Government’s interventions through the agency in response to disasters that have affected the state.
He appealed for sustained and enhanced support to strengthen ongoing relief and recovery efforts for victims of disasters in Zamfara.
In her response, the NEMA Director General reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to working closely with state governments and other partners to ensure effective disaster preparedness, response, and recovery nationwide.
Mrs. Umar assured that NEMA would continue to collaborate with Zamfara State to enhance disaster resilience and improve the livelihoods of affected communities.
